What a goal.
Robbie Brady made his first start for Burnley against Chelsea on Sunday afternoon and his first Premier League start since last May, when he was part of the Norwich City team that were relegated.
If anyone had any doubts about his ability to play in the top flight, they were given a rude reminder of the Irishman’s talents.
Brady scored a stunning free-kick to draw the game level against the Premier League leaders.
Burnley fell behind after seven minutes when Pedro finished off a swift Chelsea counter attack.
But Sean Dyche’s side showed why they’re one of the league’s best teams at home and fought their way back into the game.
This stunning free-kick from Brady, the club’s record signing at £13m, made it 1-1. The Dubliner and Joey Barton lined-up the free-kick, before Brady hit an unstoppable strike. Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois didn’t stand a chance.
Unfortunately, we’re not allowed show video footage of the goal, but the images do the brilliant strike justice.
A magnificent goal, that sent the Burnley supporters in the stadium wild.
Roy Keane was in attendance, and also couldn’t contain his delight at Brady’s goal.
