Richie Towell was linked with Brighton & Hove Albion on Monday. Today, he features in Real Madrid-leaning Marca.

The Spanish newspaper, which reports heavily on Los Blancos, ran a piece in this morning’s edition on Europe’s top marksmen.

Along with the likes of Robert Lewandowski, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Leicester City’s goalscoring hero Jamie Vardy, features Dundalk Town’s Richie Towell.

The sidebar features alongside a piece on La Liga’s best and brightest goalscorers this season.

Each of Towell’s 25 goals earn him a point in the race for this season’s Europe-wide Golden Boot competition. As you can see from the list below, Bundesliga and Premier League goals are worth two points each.

While scorers from the SSE Airtricity League may not usually feature in the paper’s bright lights, Towell’s remarkable goals per game return merits special mention.

25 from 32 appearances certainly made for a season to remember and saw the former Celtic attacker voted 2015 PFAI Player of the Year.

Brighton would want to move fast now that Real Madrid fans have been introduced to the dead-eyed goalscorer from Dublin.
