It has not been a relaxing off season so far for Richie Towell.
If the Dundalk talisman is not picking up awards he is rejecting offers from overseas.
The Brighton and Hove Albion target was collecting another award today, the Airtricity League November Player of the Month, and he admitted he has been busy rejecting offers, from as far afield as Poland and Turkey.
“Nothing is done yet. It’s all up in the air at the moment and it’s just a waiting game,”said Towell, who is keen to get his future sorted soon.
“I was hoping something would have been sorted last week.”
The former Celtic and Hibs midfielder won three Player of the Month awards this season, bring to five his total number, which just goes to highlight what an exemplary talent he is.
The Airtricity League’s top scorer this season, his exploits were highlighted in Marca today, and it is little wonder Chris Hughton’s Brighton, among others, are showing interest.
“There are a good few clubs in for me but I have to weigh up what is best for me and my family. Hopefully something will be sorted by the end of the week.”
