Lungs on fire.
Bournemouth’s season so far has been built on hard work and no little skill, as players like Harry Arter have impressed hugely in their first season in the Premier League.
Eddie Howe’s side recorded a famous win at Stamford Bridge against Chelsea, while they also claimed the scalp of Manchester United at the Vitality Stadium.
And stats today suggest the club have the hardest working player in the Premier League so far, in the form of Andrew Surman, who has covered an incredible 303.85km or just over 188 miles.
The basis for the figure is the clever folk at EA Sports and their player stats base which reveals that at least ten players are earning their thousands every month.
And there is good news for Ireland fans too as Glenn Whelan is deemed the hardest working player at Stoke, having run 251km so far this season, while Robbie Brady is considered the hardest working player at Norwich, having run 254km so far since August.
Second in the overall list is James McCarthy’s midfield partner at Everton, Gareth Barry, who has clocked in 297.64km, or just over 184 miles.
No Irish player features in the top ten unfortunately, while only Harry Kane is deemed a hard enough worker among the top four sides in the Premier League.
Arsenal’s hardest working player is Nacho Monreal who has covered over 249km this season, Cesc Fabregas has run over 240km so far for Chelsea, while strangely Nathaniel Clyne has covered the most distance for Liverpool, running up a total of 262 km so far this campaign.
Weirdly Manchester United’s hardest working player is Juan Mata at 248km, while Manchester City’s favourite greyhound is Bacary Sagna at just over 222km.
