Manchester United will not make their announcement until 1pm, but the word is out that Louis van Gaal has left Manchester United.
Ed Woodward dropped the hammer Monday morning at the club’s Carrington training ground, but reports are the pill was sweetened somewhat for the Dutchman.
He has been a dead man walking since he failed to qualify for next season’s Champions League and not even an FA Cup final victory on Saturday evening could save his job.
However, reports are emerging that the former Netherlands, Bayern Munich and Barcelona boss has been given one hell of a golden handshake.
Paul Gilroy QC finalising Van Gaal's severance package now. £5m pay off. He got £400k for winning FA Cup. Expect an announcement lunchtime

Take the £5m pay-off and the £400,000 for winning the FA Cup and Van Gaal is just £600,000 short of receiving the £6m he would have been due for the final year of his contract.
And he doesn’t have to deal with players who don’t like him anymore. Not a bad result. Although, if he leaves Manchester, he is really going to miss Wings, his favourite Chinese restaurant.
