He was sent off during Leeds’ 1-0 defeat to Ipswich Town on Saturday afternoon.
Eunan O’Kane has come under fierce criticism from Leeds United fans after being sent off for a head-butt during their 1-0 defeat to Ipswich.
The game was scoreless but turned in the Tractor Boys’ favour when the Republic of Ireland midfielder clashed with Jonas Knudsen in the 37th-minute.
Referee Robert Jones was left with no option but to brandish a straight red for O’Kane after he head-butted the defender, and his dismissal sparked an angry response from his own fans.

I knew Eunan O'Kane was trouble when he decided not to get married in the home of our lord and saviour Jesus Christ #lufc

Absolute joke! We should never have lost that game. Created so many chances. Ipswich are an ordinary side at best. Eunan O'Kane hang your head in shame. #LUFC

It was a petty lash out by Eunan O'Kane. Leeds really pushing before that. Now defending. #bbcfootball

Although it’s not a game O’Kane will remember fondly, the 27-year-old has been one Leeds’ most consistent performers in the Championship this season.
The former Bournemouth man, who has seven Ireland caps to his name, now faces a three-match suspension.
