The defender joined Fulham on transfer deadline day.

Cyrus Christie has thanked Middlesbrough fans after joining Championship rivals Fulham. The Republic of Ireland international penned a three-and-a-half-year deal at Craven Cottage after making 26 appearances for Boro.

The 25-year-old only joined Tony Pulis’ side in the summer after a three-year stay at Derby County.

“Cyrus is a fantastic young player who brings both an international pedigree and a wealth of Championship experience with him,” Fulham director of football, Tony Khan said.

Taking to his Instagram account, Christie thanked supporters for making him feel at home over the last six months.

“Firstly I just wanted to say a big thanks to all the fans and staff at Boro who made me feel welcome from day one. It was short but sweet for me. Really enjoyed my time there and made some great friends for life . I wish you all the best for the rest of season. #UTB”

“Now I’m looking forward to giving it a real go for @FulhamFC and helping the Club with the promotion push. Can’t wait to get started. Thanks for the warm welcome. #WeAreFulham #FFC”

Christie has made 17 appearances for Ireland after making his debut in November 2014 and has established himself as a regular fixture in Martin O’Neill’s side.
