Brendan Rodgers could have more than 10 million reasons to be happy about losing his job.
The former Liverpool boss could stand to gain over £10 million (€13.5) in compensation after being sacked  by the club, according to the Telegraph
It is understood that Liverpool owner, Fenway Sports Group, was only handed a new contract in 2014 after coming close to winning the Premier League title and the club did not make any provision for the early termination of his contract.
Rodgers had nearly three years left on that deal when he was given the axe which, including bonuses, is worth around £5 million a year.
Rodgers could receive his bonuses because the owners are not giving him the opportunity to meet his performance related clauses. In other words, Liverpool cannot penalise him for not securing a top-four finish or failing to win a trophy, which means Rodgers may be entitled to the money.
