Roy Keane is reportedly being investigated by police in Greater Manchester over an alleged ‘road rage’ argument earlier today.

The Republic of Ireland assistant manager is said to have got involved in an altercation with a taxi-driver in Altrincham at 11:30am this morning. Keane has been accused of exiting his Range Rover to berate the driver at a set of lights near the Unicorn pub near in the town centre.

The driver has reported the incident and Keane, who lives near-by, is reportedly being investigated by police.

The Manchester Evening News says a 44-year-old taxi driver, who they name as Fateh Kerar, was left ‘shaking and terrified’ after the incident with Keane.

Fateh tells the MEN he and his passenger first spotted Keane when they were stopped at a cash machine: ‘We were both saying “that’s Roy Keane” but he was just glaring back at us, looking really angry. I said “hello” to him, then said “smile”.

‘He drove behind us going into Altrincham and as we got to the traffic lights, he stopped beside us and turned to us still looking really angry.

‘He got out of his car in the middle of the road, held two fingers up and walked out in front of me. He was pointing and swearing and being very aggressive.

A spokesperson for Greater Manchester Police said: ‘At 11.30am this morning, Friday 30 January 2015, police were called to Ashley Road, Altrincham to a report that a man had behaved aggressively towards another man’.

‘An investigation is underway to establish the exact circumstances surrounding the incident’.
