Manchester United have reportedly agreed on a record fee of £80 million for a defender after meeting Leicester City’s evaluation for centre-back Harry Maguire.
The England defender has been linked with a move to United for over a year now and it looks like a stint in Manchester could be on the horizon with multiple reports indicating a deal has been reached between the two clubs.

If Maguire signs he would follow both Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Daniel James to the club.
James and Wan-Bissaka made their club debuts against Perth Glory last week while the addition of Maguire would seriously beef up United’s defence.
Maguire has long been linked with a move to United and he was caught last month liking a post on Instagram from a fan saying he would be a ‘fan favourite’ at United.
His social media activity led to wild speculation he was joining the club, however, Maguire admitted it was an accident.
I didn’t mean to guys… we’ve all been there 🤷🏻♂️😂 https://t.co/z2whONT6Po

Premier League champions Manchester City were also understood to be interested in Maguire but that was before they spent a club record £68.2m on Atletico Madrid midfielder Rodri.
