Really bad news for Brendan Rodgers
August 31. That was the last time that Daniel Sturridge played for Liverpool, and he had a good game as the striker led the Reds to a handy 3-0 win over Spurs at White Hart lane.
He would play for England the next week, against Norway, but thanks to a thigh strain suffered in training a few days later on international duty, he hasn’t played for anyone since.
After a long absence with the thigh injury, a calf injury then delayed his return but the striker returned to training last week and he was expected to be fit to be on the bench for Liverpool’s game with Crystal Palace on Sunday.
Now, if reports are to be believed, Sturridge has once again injured his thigh, in a training session yesterday, and he will now be assessed again over the next 48 hours.
UPDATE: More news on the Sturridge setback
#LFC striker Daniel Sturridge has indeed suffered an injury setback. Likely to undergo a scan tomorrow. No one knows how serious yet.
