The reports linking Shane Duffy with a move from Blackburn Rovers won’t go away.
The Republic of Ireland defender has been repeatedly touted with a transfer to Celtic, while Swansea City are also said to be interested in signing the 24-year-old.
Owen Coyle, Duffy’s manager at Blackburn, has said there’s been “no concrete offers” for the player in terms of an official, written offer, and hopes to hang on to the defender, having lost Grant Hanley to Newcastle United.
Coyle could face a fight from Brighton & Hove Albion for Duffy, with The Irish Sun reporting that the Championship side have bid £2m for the Derry native.
Brighton boss Chris Hughton is reportedly keen to add to his squad for their promotion push. The Seagulls spent most of last season in the automatic promotion places, but finished third in the division, and lost to Sheffield Wednesday in the play-off semi-final.
The newspaper report that Celtic, who have just signed Kolo Toure, are still interested in Duffy, as are Championship side Wolverhampton Wanderers.
