Report: Bayern Munich medical team quits after Guardiola allegedly blames them for Porto loss

Did the doctor pick the team or what

This is bizarre

We were as surprised as anyone on Wednesday night with the news emerging from Portugal that Bayern Munich got quite a trimming from Porto in the quarter final of the Champions League.

Pep Guardiola was without a number of first team players for the 3-1 loss including Franck Ribery and Bastian Schweinsteiger.

In fact the club had two goalkeepers on the bench and have recently been left with just 14 healthy outfield players.

And it seems that the German champions medical staff have been blamed for a defeat that puts the club’s hopes of reaching the last four in serious doubt.

It was reported in Germany on Thursday evening that club’s the well respected doctor Hans Wilhelm Müller-Wohlfahrt and his entire medical team resigned with immediate effect.

According to reports the doctor said that the reason he quit the club, where he has been since 1977, was because Guardiola laid the blame for Wednesday’s loss firmly at the his door.

The clip below shows Guardiola’s reaction when Mehdi Benatia suffered an injury during the defeat against Porto.

Muller-Wohlfahrt is on the bench and is the apparent recipient of Guardiola’s sarcastic applause.

The club so far have refused to comment on the speculation surrouding the doctor
