The biggest name yet to be linked with the MLS, but fans Stateside may have to wait a few years

As you have probably seen, there has been a lot of talk about where Cristiano Ronaldo will go next. With many thinking he looks utterly fed up with the demands of the Real Madrid fans, some have even speculated he will leave in the summer, which would please Manchester United fans who hanker for the Portuguese to return to them one day.

But SI’s main soccer guy, Grant Wahl, is reporting something very different tonight. He says that he has multiple sources telling him that once Ronnie’s current deal runs out in Madrid, in the summer of 2018, he’ll go to the MLS on a free.

By then, Ronaldo will be 33 but if he does follow this plan, he will go to Miami, Los Angeles and New York. Even at 33, a player of Ronaldo’s calibre would be a feather in the cap of the MLS.
