Well, this is certainly confidence
Real Madrid will face Liverpool in the Champions League final in Kiev on May 26th in a repeat of the 1981 European Cup final, a game which saw Liverpool defeat the Spaniards 1-0 at the Parc des Princes.
While Madrid are favourites having won the competition for the past two years, many pundits and fans believe that Liverpool’s potent attack, and especially the in-form Mohamed Salah, give the Reds are serious chance of preventing Madrid from winning three in a row.
That opinion is not held by the club’s Honorary President Paco Gento however, who has revealed that he believes the game will be an absolute breeze for Madrid.

Gento, who won six European Cups during his time as a player at the Bernabeu, gave his frank (and slightly insulting prediction) to Spanish football outlet AS this week.
“Everyone gets excited by these kind of games – everyone wants to be there to support the team and cheer them on to win another European Cup – and continue this great run we’re in and which we have always enjoyed. Madrid cannot let this chance slip – finals are to be won, not played and Real Madrid know what is at stake,” said the 84-year-old.
This portion of his quotes occurred presumably before he got an unexpected does of dopamine shot into this brain, provoking a sense of confidence rarely seen outside of Hollywood studios. He continued:
“That goes without saying,” he said after revealing that he wouldn’t actually be attending the game himself. “It will be a piece of cake”.
At least he’s not sitting on the fence. All we need now is for Kenny Dalglish to come out and say that he believes Liverpool’s will batter Madrid 6-0.
