Real Madrid line up Manchester United playmaker if ambitious Paul Pogba bid fails

Kevin McGillicuddy

Call it Plan P.

You can never have enough flashy players in the centre of the park, or at least that’s what one of the biggest clubs in the world thinks.

It’s just the Real Madrid way to stack every area outside of their back four with as much attacking talent as possible, and then see what happens.

And this summer’s transfer dealings will be no different for the La Liga side, with Spanish media outlet Fichajes suggesting a bonkers transfer policy yet again.

They are reporting that Madrid will be willing to break yet another world record to land Paul Pogba from Juventus this summer, for over €100million.

The ex-Manchester United player is likely to be at the centre of intense speculation as to his future, but if the move falls through, his old club also might be raided by Los Blancos.

Fichajes are suggesting that Ander Herrera could be looking to the exit door at Old Trafford, after yet another frustrating season under Louis van Gaal, with the 23-year-old understood to be keen on a return to La Liga.

It’s suggested that Madrid would see Herrera as a ‘Plan B’ style solution while they wait for Pogba, and the approach for the playmaker could be in tandem with another Real Madrid bid for David de Gea.

Madrid is currently under a transfer embargo, with the club currently appealing the sanction handed down at the start of the year.
