England may have been sent crashing out of Euro 2016 in the first knockout stage, but they will have a presence at Sunday’s final.
Mark Clattenburg has been tasked with the job of officiating the Euro 2016 final between Portugal and France
The appointment will see the Englishman write his name into the history books as he is set to complete an unprecedented feat – officiating the the FA Cup, Champions League and Euro 2016 finals in the same year.
While Clattenburg was praised for his handling of Pepe’s histrionics in the Champion’s League final, the domestic Cup was a different story. By all accounts, he had an absolute mare in that match, and it seems that football fans have not forgotten some of the referee’s questionable past performances, judging by the reaction to Uefa’s announcement on Twitter.
