The best, the not-so-good and the downright bloody awful home kits from the forthcoming Premier League season.
Without any further ado…
20. Everton
Looks more like a training top or a Sunday League jersey. Definitely not good enough for a Premier League side. Weak effort from Umbro.
19. Swansea
A fairly uninspiring effort across the board from Swansea’s kit manufacturer Joma.
18. Crystal Palace
After briefly dabbling in something different last year, Palace are back in their red and blue vertical stripes. Keeping it simple. A seemingly recurring theme for Premier league teams this year.
17. Huddersfield
Meh.
16. West Ham
Tribute has been paid to the kit worn by the likes of Trevor Brooking and Billy Bonds for the 1976 Cup Winners Cup final.
Nice, if a bit standard.
15. Leicester
The deposed Premier League champions appear to have masking tape on their sleeves. Still not bad though.
14. Manchester United
Adidas have prepared great things for their third year with United. The away kit is something special as it’s the first in the club’s history based on a fan design. This home kit, however, is more reserved with the traditional red with white stripes on the shoulders and a back trim on the sleeves.
Moderate enough effort.
13. Watford
Watford have signed a new deal with German giants Adidas and their new kit is both innovative and stylish. They have gone for their classic yellow with black shorts and socks with a red trim.
12. Bournemouth
Traditional red and black strip from Umbro. Inoffensive, a safe pick for the Cherries.
11. Newcastle United
If you can somehow train your eye to disregard that eyesore of a logo, this is lovely.
10. Southampton
It’s different, and different is alright by us.
9. Burnley
A top ten finish for Burnley or, as they’re now known, the Republic of Ireland international senior men’s team.
8. Stoke City
Clean, crisp, new blue trim. We approve.
7. Arsenal
Arsenal have gone for a darker shade of red this year and a collar. Very similar to their home kit from 2005/6 when they finished runners up to Barcelona in the Champions League.
6. Brighton and Hove Albion
If they play as well as their new kit looks they should have no problem avoiding relegation next year…
5. Chelsea
Simple and effective with a white trim around the neckline.
4. West Brom
Retro. Again. Yet very classy.
3. Manchester City
You rarely see a bad home kit from Manchester City, and this effort is a cut above (all but two of) the rest.
2. Tottenham
Runners up. Again. Tottenham have ditched kit manufacturer Under Armour in favour of Nike. Nike have continued their trend of playing it safe but it appears to have paid off as this simple kit is very stylish.
1. Liverpool
A thing of pure beauty. Hands down the best Liverpool kit in years.
