Rangnick could reportedly keep his consultancy role at Man United.
Ralf Rangnick has been offered the chance to become the manager of the Austria national team, according to reports.
Manchester United’s interim manager is due to move into a consultancy role at Old Trafford in the summer.
Rangnick, however, could leave that role, or possibly combine it, with managing Austria.
Rangnick reportedly offered chance to become Austria manager.
According to multiple reports in the UK, Rangnick has been in talks about becoming Austria’s manager and the two parties are said to be close to striking a deal.
The announcement could be made on Friday, the day after Man United host Chelsea in the Premier League at Old Trafford.
The Daily Mail initially reported that Rangnick would not take up his consultancy role with the Red Devils should he accept Austria’s offer.

However, separate reports later claimed that this wasn’t the case, and Rangnick would, most likely, still be a consultant for Man United.
Austria are currently ranked 34th in the Fifa rankings. They reached the last-16 of Euro 2020 but failed to qualify for the 2022 World Cup.
They have been without a manager since March when Franco Foda resigned.

Rangnick, 63, was hired as Man United’s interim manager in November following Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s dismissal.
The German is set to move into a consultancy role for United at the end of the season, but it is unclear how the role will coincide with his imminent appointment as Austria coach.
Man United, meanwhile, have appointed Erik ten Hag as their new permanent manager, and the current Ajax coach will take up the role in the summer.
