You can’t win with football fans, we all know this.
The only thing that inspires accusations of bias more than a lopsided combined XI is that time near the end of the season when the PFA Team of the Year comes out.
That time is now and that team is nothing but fair, by our estimations.
On Thursday morning, the Professional Football Association named the XI of Premier League players that have most impressed since the start of the season.
And it looks like this.
Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea was named between the sticks while Liverpool’s Sadio Mane starts on the right side of midfield with Everton’s Romelu Lukaku, the league’s top scorer with 24 goals so far, starts up front.
The remaining eight places are reserved for the two teams currently battling it out for the title as the full-back positions are occupied by Tottenham Hotspur’s Kyle Walker and Danny Rose, with an all-Chelsea centre-back pairing of David Luiz and Gary Cahill.
Dele Alli and N’golo Kante are rewarded with places in the centre of the park, with Eden Hazard on the left.
Harry Kane, after recently returning from injury, joins Lukaku in what would amount to a lethal strike partnership.
No crazy selections there, right?
Wrong!!
Just ask this bunch who are nothing short of infuriated.
Gary Cahill over Toby Alderweireld and Jan Vertonghen in the PFA team of the year?
Complete joke

Why is Tom Heaton not in the PFA TOTY? De Gea is a superb keeper but Heaton has earned Burnley so many points & pretty much secured safety
