Premier League clubs on full alert as Pedro given green light to leave Barcelona

Pedro could be off to England

The Pedro to England rumours have a little bit more weight behind them now.

The Barcelona midfielder has been linked with Manchester United and Chelsea all summer, and it looks like the clubs may have a chance of snapping him up.

The 27-year-old has been given the go ahead to leave Camp Nou by the Barca big wigs, providing a club is willing to trigger the buy-out clause in his contract. Considering that his release clause is a very reasonable £22 million, a move to the Premier League this season is not out of the question.

Barcelona chief executive Luis Enrique confirmed that he is willing to let Pedro go, but the player must decide his own future.

“I’ve said that if Pedro goes it will be when someone has paid his clause. If that doesn’t happen, it will be difficult.

“I have spoken with Pedro. I told him what I think and he told me what he thinks. When the player makes a decision something will happen. The decision belongs to Pedro.”
