So harsh.
We would like to think if we found ourselves in the same situation as this poor fan then one of our friends or fellow supporters would help us out.
But football can be a cruel, unforgiving world, where the opportunity to embarrass your friend even further is just too good of an opportunity to pass up.
Case in point when it came to Hearts’ thrashing of Hamilton Academical in the Scottish Premiership at the weekend.
Hearts ending up winning the match 4-0 at Tynecastle, a great day out for the home supporters.

At the 76th minute, Hearts were 3-0 up and cruising to an easy victory.
The home support was in jubilant mood and for one particular fan, he thought his day was going to get even better when he got the opportunity to hit ball back onto the pitch.
Unfortunately for him, he lost his balance in doing so and ended up dangling over an access gate.
Finding oneself in quite a precarious position, you would hope that a friend, colleague or someone sympathetic to your situation would help you out.
But not at Tynecastle.
The poor supporter suffered further embarrassment as he was given a gentle nudge which sent him through the brink and onto the turf.

He took it very well, though.
