EA Sports have been rolling out the player ratings ahead of the upcoming Fifa 17 release, and the world’s most expensive player doesn’t even crack the top 15.
Paul Pogba has been given a game rating of 88, just one less than the number of millions of pounds it cost Manchester United to bring him back to Old Trafford from Juventus, making him the 18th best player on the game.
Pogba, who has the same rating as international teammate Antoine Griezmann, isn’t the only Premier League star who has not quite been able to break into the top 10 for the upcoming version of the game.
Sergio Agüero climbs one place, from 12th to 11th, with a score of 89, and he edges out Arsenal’s Mesut Özil and Chelsea goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois.
Courtois has jumped 19 places compared to FIFA 16, while Özil climbs from 18th to 12th.
Three players currently in the Premier League were among Fifa 16’s 10 highest rated players, but two of those three have slipped down the rankings this time around.
David Silva has fallen from 10th to 44th while Eden Hazard – sixth last year – is now at number 30, below Petr Čech and cover star Marco Reus.
The third member of that trio? None other than Manchester United signing Zlatan Ibrahimović. We’ll soon find out if he is able to improve on last year’s seventh-place finish.
