PlayXPlay Live: Louise Quinn, Megan Campbell and Áine O’Gorman

SportsJOE

If you’ve an anonymous Twitter account and get genuinely wound up by women’s football getting some air time, sorry.

But that World Cup was a roaring success.

In a month, society went from some people having never watched any female football games to a packed Tramline in Dublin where everyone was glued to the final between USA and Netherlands with no stake whatsoever in it for Irish fans.

One tournament later with better coverage and more momentum and the landscape is changing dramatically once more.

PlayXPlay covered the game in association with AIG Ireland and brought along three Irish internationals to help dissect the live action, the general snapshot of the women’s game and the opportunities.

Man City’s Megan Campbell, Arsenal’s Louise Quinn and Republic of Ireland legend Áine O’Gorman were at hand with Jenny Murphy to share stories on big game preparations, coming through bad form and what needs to be done in future to keep improving.

It’s a cracking show and an important one at that and available to watch now:
