Ten years on and Jose Mourinho is still moaning about that ‘ghost-goal’ that Luis Garcia scored in the Champions League for Liverpool.
But it seems that technology has had a cruel jibe at the Chelsea manager this afternoon as his club were denied what to the naked eye looks like a clear strike against West Ham.
Chelsea went behind to Mauro Zarate, but thought that Kurt Zouma had got them back in the game with his goalbound effort late in the first half.
To the naked eye that certainly looks like a good effort to us.
However, if you look closer the seeds of doubt are planted
A hair’s breadth of the ball has not crossed the line. Or something equally thin, like Ryan Tubridy.
That was almost the least of Chelsea’s troubles as they had another goal ruled out for offisde, Nemanja Matic was sent off for two yellow cards before the break, and Jose Mourinho was sent to the stands by the referee Jon Moss.
