There are just a few basic ingredients to any new Celtic jersey.
If you are a shirt designer, you can’t really go wrong if you follow the three basic rules:
Green – Check
White – Check
Hoops – Check
But hats off to New Balance for finding a way to improve on that basic formula for the 2016/17 kit unveiled in the last 24 hours.
The Bhoys are on the cusp of a fifth league title success in-a-row, and that golden run of form, has been cleverly incorporated into the new kit.
Look closely and you will see a gold trim on the shoulders and sleeves, while inside the jersey, in gold lettering, “A Club Like No Other” is sewn on the lower back and neck line.
The front of the jersey is now sponsored by Dafabet, while Magners retains a prominent place on the back near the collar.
All in all, a classic. Again.
And the goalkeeper’s kit isn’t bad either.
