Fabian Delph made his return to Aston Villa today and fans made sure the club’s former captain was left in little doubt about their feelings for him.
The England midfielder joined City just days after committing his future to Villa Park and was roundly booed when he was brought off the bench by manager Manuel Pellegrini in the second half of the scoreless draw.
A few fans went one step further, however, holding up colourful toy snakes with Delph’s face attached, which elicited a mixed reaction from Football Twitter.

Classless Villa, actually purchasing toy snakes because of Delph. Move on lmao we had to with a club legend, Delph is nothing.
