Pic: With one brief statement, Fifa corruption judge makes every US soccer fan facepalm

Chuck Blazer, Santa's doppelganger

SportsJOE

MLS fans, look away now.

The guilty pleas of former top Fifa official Chuck Blazer from a 2013 hearing in New York have been released.

It was revealed in Blazer’s testimony that he along with others on Fifa’s executive committee agreed accept bribes over the selection of South Africa as host of the 2010 World Cup. Santa’s doppelganger also admitted accepting bribes over the 1998 event in France.

However, there was one section of transcript of the hearing that will hurt US soccer fans (we have to call them that to avoid confusion with that other sport) more than others.

US judge

With that one statement, the judge took America’s reputation with the beautiful game back roughly 100 years.
