A little bit of history at Anfield
Anyone who has a big brother knows that sometimes tensions can boil over if you’re playing sport either with or against them. If you’re among mates then they should normally pass you the ball and if you have a fight then by the time you’ve gotten home it should be all forgotten about.
We’re sure its the same for the Toure brothers this afternoon as they finally got play against each other at Anfield where Liverpool hosted Manchester City. Today’s occasion came five years after Yaya signed for Manchester City and joined his older brother in England
Kolo had never faced Yaya on the field before, despite having been a substitute for a number of Liverpool-City matches in recent years.
However they made a little piece of history this afternoon in the final few minutes after Yaya started for the Premier League champions and Kolo came on as Liverpool looked to protect their 2-1 advantage in the final seven minutes. Before the game Yaya Toure had tweeted about the sibling rivalry:
Love my big bro. He has taught me so much. But today… May the best Toure..sorry Team win!! : )) #Family pic.twitter.com/HwYuvT3C6s
