The King of LA meets the boss in Washington
While a trip to the White House is a big deal for most, Robbie Keane is an old hand at this stage. Not only did Robbie pop in to see Obama in 2012 with the LA Galaxy team, a visit in which Obama joked that he and Robbie were cousins, but Keane was back in the summer of 2013 too when the Galaxy won the title again.
Now, after yet another win last year, Robbie and his team-mates headed to Washington again to follow the tradition of America’s victorious sports teams meeting the President.

Eventually the man himself, Obama not Robbie, appeared and paid tribute to the two LA teams on the visit, the NHL champion LA Kings and the Galaxy.
Obama paid tribute to the Galaxy for three titles in four years and had a special shout out to League MVP Robbie Keane before saying some fine words about Robbie Rogers.
Obama then posed for pictures with Robbie before the two had a chat.
At least when Robbie eventually becomes President of Ireland, he’ll know his way around the White House
