A day he’ll never forget
That’s how Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard has described yesterday’s emotional Anfield farewell in an Instagram post this morning.
As the reality that he will never play in front of the Kop again sinks in, Gerrard thanked everyone at the club where he has spent the last 27 years for making the game against Crystal Palace – which Liverpool lost, but who cares? – a memorable occasion.
