The story takes an interesting turn.
Sergio Ramos’ proposed move from Real Madrid to Manchester United has officially entered ‘Transfer Sega’ territory.
The Spanish defender reportedly told the club he wants to leave and join United, after falling out with club hierarchy over a failure to offer a new deal.
According to Spanish football expert Graham Hunter, Ramos made it ‘completely clear’ he wants to join United, after being informed of a €40 million bid.
The defender’s issue appeared to be with club president Florentino Perez, who is reportedly unwilling to meet Ramos’ wage demands.
Ramos’ contract has also been allowed to enter it’s final two years, something the club rarely does with first-team players.
However, they look to be getting on fine in this picture.

Madrid’s players and staff reported back to the club’s training ground earlier today, and there appears no sign of a rift between Perez and Ramos.
Perez was also pictured with new coach Rafa Benitez.

And Iker Casillas, who is reportedly on the verge of an exit from the club to join Porto, paving the way for David de Gea’s transfer.

Are Ramos and Perez just putting on a show for the cameras? Or has the defender just been using United’s interest to leverage for a new deal?
Ramos said last week that: “I’m not negotiating with anyone”, and there have been no reports of Madrid and the player re-opening contract negotiations
Either way, this could have a few more twists and turns before it’s settled.
