A nice touch of class from Rudi Garcia.
The Roma manager might well be preparing for the capital’s derby tomorrow with Lazio but he realises that there are more important things in life.
Ahead of the biggest day of the year for the Stadio Olimpico, Garcia’s mind was in Paris along with the victims of the Charlie Hebdo attack. And, in the pre-game press conference, the Roma boss paid a fitting tribute.
Garcia left a pencil on every chair for each journalist as a symbol of solidarity with the freedom of press. A lovely gesture at a tough time. Fair play.

Meanwhile, in Toulon, both the hosts and Racing Metro have marked their respects with a powerful minute’s silence ahead of their Top 14 clash as the world continues to unite in remembrance.
