Manchester United take on PSV Eindhoven in a vital Champions League tie on Wednesday evening, but the game also has the shadow of the gruesome injury suffered by Luke Shaw when the sides last met hanging over it.
Shaw was the victim of a horrific tackle from Eindhoven defender Hector Moreno as United lost 2-1 in Holland, suffering a broken leg that threatens to keep him out of action for most of the season.
United boss Louis van Gaal attempted to diffuse tensions ahead of Moreno’s visit to Old Trafford, but PSV fans are doing their bit as well.
The visiting Dutch supporters have produced a wonderful flag supporting the England left-back as he continues his recovery.
Shaw was very much appreciative of the gesture and tweeted out his thanks this afternoon.
Thank you to the PSV fans for your nice gesture 👏🏻👊🏻 looking forward to the game tonight #MUFC 🔴 pic.twitter.com/XI61fzcoFQ
