A big load of sand is what that pitch needs.
The Estadio Monumental Antonio Vespucio Liberti in Buenos Aires would never live up to life in Ireland if the stadium was transported here brick by brick and grass blade by grass blade.
Last night it was due to hold the World Cup qualifying match between Brazil and Argentina, but the bowl in the middle of Buenos Aires struggled to deal with torrential rain and wind that hit the area just before kick off.

Brazil is well used to rain, with the Amazon not being so far away and all that, but even we would find it hard to play a Sunday morning game in conditions like this

Argentina were due to start the game without Lionel Messi or Carlos Tevez, while Brazil are set to welcome back Neymar for the game.
Thankfully it’s been -for tonight and the forecast is not quite as bleak.
