It’s been a while since Dublin was this deserted at 6:30 on a Monday evening.
The last time was probably in June 1990, when the Republic of Ireland played England in their first ever World Cup game.
As Ireland played Sweden in Paris in their opening game of Group E in Euro 2016, everyone back home, bar these few souls, were glued to their television sets.
This looks like a scene from 28 Days Later.

There won’t be any dancing in the streets though, as Ireland and Sweden played out a 1-1 draw.
