After 18 years of loyal service, Steven Gerrard is heading for the exit but the Pool fans will pay tribute to his legacy tonight
Liverpool fans are planning to unveil a huge banner paying tribute to Gerrard during their Capital One clash with Chelsea. The Reds welcome the league leaders to Anfield for the first leg of the semi-finals.
The long standing club captain announced earlier this month that he would be leaving Liverpool after his contract runs up at the end of the season. He later confirmed that he will be heading stateside to join Robbie Keane’s LA Galaxy in the MLS., thus ending his tenure at Anfield.
The banner that is set to be hoisted up in the crowd during the game reads: “The best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be.”
We've had this banner made after a request off some locals lads. It'll be on The Kop on Tuesday – @Kopitetickets pic.twitter.com/OZ2MOJdqxR
