Rumours they couldn’t face watching Mario Balitelli play up front anymore are denied
In the build up to tonight’s crucial Premier League clash between at the KC Stadium, Liverpool fans had threatened that they would boycott the game.
The supporters decided the match would be the ideal time to protest at the apparent ever increasing prices of away tickets as tickets for the match were priced at almost €70.
Tonight’s protest has been organised by the Spirit of Shankly group, and they had hoped that as many as 500 seats would be left unfilled.
The game isn’t on television, which dulls the effectiveness of the protest somewhat, but the pictures on Twitter tonight are startling of what matches might look like in future if supporters can’t afford to travel to away games.

Liverpool fans were probably better to stay at home as a Michael Dawson header secured a 1-0 win for the home side
