Lionel Messi celebrated Christmas by getting some fresh ink, and it’s pretty damn abysmal
As the old adage goes, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. The subjective nature of art is why critiquing tattoos is often met with vitriol. The huge, busier-looking pieces might look messy to one person but it might be an intricate masterpiece to another set of eyes.
By the same token the more modest, minimalist tatts can either be seen as elegant pieces of artistry or banal designs that are a testament to the tattooee’s lack of imagination.
The latter is the case for Barcelona’s talismanic striker, Lionel Messi’s latest effort.
As one Twitter user pointed out, the Argentine has essentially got a clip art of a soccer ball permanently scarred onto his skin.

Here’s hoping it isn’t finished yet. Maybe after a few more sessions it might look like something Carlos Tevez would be proud of.
