Pic: Kevin Mirallas’ messing last night was very costly for one Irish gambler

We may have found the only person angrier at the Belgian than Roberto Martinez

Just when you think you’ve seen every way an accumulator can go bad…

There wasn’t much to talk about in Everton’s 0-0 draw with West Brom last except for the frankly disgraceful shenanigans of Kevin Mirallas. The Belgian ignored the fact that Leighton Baines was the designated spot kick taker when Everton were awarded a penalty just before half-time and demanded he take it. Then he bloody missed it. A clearly furious Roberto Martinez substituted him at half-time.

The Belgian’s antics were costly to Fantasy Football owners all over the world but they hit one Irish punter even harder. Trevor had managed to get a fine anytime scorer bet going for the weekend and after Danny Ings, Christian Eriksen, Andy Carroll and Olivier Giroud had all delivered, all Trevor needed as Mirallas to score for a superb €600 return on his fiver bet.

We can only imagine his face as first Mirallas grabbed the ball, thinking he was quids in, before the despair of both the miss and the early hooking ending his bet in swift fashion.

It’s a cruel game Trevor…
