The 37-year-old Preston forward is made of stern stuff as he played on with his mangled hand against Manchester United
Who needs enemies when you have friends like this. After just four minutes of last night’s FA Cup tie between Preston and Manchester United at Deepdale. veteran striker Kevin Davies had his left hand stamped on, accidentally, by his team-mate Joe Garner.
Davies played on until the 75th minute (though he was lucky not to be sent off before that) and he revealed the full extent of the damage in a tweet today.
Sore hand today think my partner in crime Joe Garner landed on it! pic.twitter.com/pHfIU3GmGZ
