Crunching the numbers won’t get you any closer to finding out who’s the definitive number one goalkeeper in the Premier League.

The debate over who is the best shot-stopper in England is no closer to being settled. While there is a case for Hugo Lloris’ hat to be thrown into the ring, most fans will agree that Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois and David de Gea of Manchester United are the two top keepers in the Premier League.

Both have been in stellar form for their respective clubs throughout the current campaign, and as such, there hasn’t really been an argument put forward which proves one is more talented than the other.

Sky Sports have analysed all the data and have produced a very interesting comparison of the two goalkeepers. however, if you thought that this would be telling of which number one is the better player, you will be grosly disappointed.

De Gea and Courtois are almost impossible to separate as all their stats this season are very similar.

David De Gea used to be criticised for his inability to deal with crosses but his 100% catch success rate this season shows that he has greatly improved this part of his game. In fact, he’s got 3% on his Chelsea counterpart in this category.
