Awkward.
They love banter over on beIN Sports.
The network is, after all, the adopted home of Richard Keys and Andy Gray, the crown princes of banter, who relocated to Qatar to form the republic of banter, free from the anti-banter bores of Sky Sports and the like back in Britain.
Keys and Gray weren’t present for this particular incident of banter, but there’s no doubt they would have been extremely proud.
Graeme Souness is currently on Euro 2016 punditry duty for the network, after a stint in Ireland with TV3, and lost a game of golf against former Republic of Ireland midfielder Jason McAteer.
The forfeit can be classified as cruel and unusual punishment for any proud Scotsman, never mind a man who played 54 times for the country.
Souness was made wear an England jersey live on-air.
Fair play a bet is a bet. Won at golf against Mr Souness. You will never see this again. @Clive_Allen9 outstanding pic.twitter.com/VE87ezVQJx
