Any newcomers watching the MLS Cup final might have been wondering how the pasty-faced sharpshooter who netted the winner was inexplicably from Sub-Saharan Africa.
Robbie Keane posted a photo of his match day boots prior to the MLS Cup final and there was one glaringly obvious flaw with the footwear. The flag printed on the boot is clearly an Ivory Coast flag.
From our extensive research we have concluded that the former Tottenham striker doesn’t qualify to play for Cote d’Ivoire through the granny rule. In fact, he doesn’t seem to have any link to the country at all. It’s safe to assume that he requested an Irish flag and the manufacturers got the colours in the wrong order.
Despite the failure of the design on the boots, they did seem to work for Keane who smashed home an extra-time winner against the New England Revolution to claim the MLS Cup.
