Pic: Everton go Full Metal Jacket with their new alternative kit

Sir, yes, sir!

Ben Kiely

Who’s the leader of the club that’s made for you and me? P-H-I-L J-A… eh, Tom Cleverly!

Everton have unveiled their new alternative kit for the 2015/16 season, and it is… different. The Toffees launched the new kit with a cartoon drawn by Marvel artist Will Sliney.

The green, orange and black number makes it look like the uniform of a team sent out to slaughter shepherds in some foreign land to “find the WMDs” rather than one that is set to be slaughtered by Arsenal.

The back of the shirt features a nice nod to the club’s motto Nil satis nisi optimum, which apparently is not latin for “no status, no optimism” but rather translates as “nothing but the best is good enough”.

You learn something new everyday.
