It’s that time of year when the spirit of charity kicks into overdrive.
The “Man on the Moon” John Lewis advert last week had everyone wishing they could do more for people in need.
And one kindly Bournemouth fan was certainly in generous form ahead of the Cherries’ game with Newcastle on Saturday afternoon.
Matt Bradley had planned to go to the Vitality Stadium with his dad at the weekend but, because of a last-minute change of plans, his dad couldn’t go.
After trying to find a taker on various Bournemouth forums, Bradley went down to the stadium with his spare ticket when he spotted homeless fan Gordon Roberts, affectionately known as ‘Gordon the Tramp’ in the town.
Gordon was queueing up outside the Vitality Stadium when Matt arrived and decided to do his good deed for the day by offering him the spare ticket.

“We sat right at the front, enjoyed the game, got a cup of tea at half time and that was that,” Matt told The Bournemouth Echo.
“It’s just one of those things. I know it’s kind of hard for people to get tickets and he’s been saying he was struggling and it was nice to do it for someone in a little bit of need.
“He’s always one of those who’s always been there and I think he knows everyone at the club. Every steward was ‘alright Gordon? How’s it going Gordon?’. He’s very well known and a popular man at the club.
“He was rather pleased,” Matt added. “I think he enjoyed a bit of company and having a laugh as anyone would do. He seemed pretty chuffed.”
