We’re guessing there isn’t a lot of candidates.
You would imagine the manager’s position with the Belgium national team would be one of the most coveted in international football.
The Red Devils are ranked second in the world, with a squad packed full of talented, if underachieving, players, who, with the right coach at the helm, should be contenders for the 2018 World Cup.
The next coach also couldn’t mess things up as much as Marc Wilmots, who stepped down on Monday after the side’s underwhelming Euro 2016 campaign, which saw them exit in the quarter-finals to Wales.
Wilmots was reportedly considered tactically limited by the Belgian players, and his successor will be tasked with getting more out the talented team.
However, it appears the Belgian FA are having trouble filling the role. They have, in a rather unorthodox move, advertised the position on their website.
Kristof TerreurThe new coach will be required to transmit “tactical and strategical knowledge to top level players,” and be a “strong and open communicator.”
The closing date is July 31, so there’s still time for you to update your CV if you think you have the skills for the role. However, in our eyes, there’s only man for the job.
