Bastian Schweinsteiger’s mind may be on the big game tomorrow night against Ireland, but he has taken time out this evening to meet the family of one of the victims of the Berkeley tragedy.
Previously the German midfielder has passed on his sympathies to the family of Niccolai Schuster, who was killed along with five other Irish students in the balcony collapse in June.
The family of the student got in touch with with the German after the accident and he posted an emotional Facebook tribute to the Dublin student

The midfielder, who’s in Ireland for tomorrow’s crucial Euro 2016 qualifying clash with Martin O’Neill’s side, paid tribute to the student in the Facebook post,
“The news makes me very sad. I wish much strength for this difficult time you, the family and all relatives of Nick. I would like to express my condolences also all other sufferers of this accident.”
And this evening the family of Niccolai met up with the former Bayern Munich man at the Aviva Stadium

Schweinsteiger spent some minutes chatting with the brother and parents of Niccolai in what must have been a very emotional moment for everyone concerned.
