The “There will be haters” Adidas campaign might have a questionable tag-line but at least it’s producing some pretty eye-catching footwear.
The latest football boot from the German sportswear manufacturer pays tribute to Barcelona’s talismanic striker Lionel Messi.
The “Pibe de Barr10” boots are, according to the official press release, “inspired by the Barrio of Las Heras, Rosario, where Messi learned to play the game.”
The boot features intricate red and black designs on the heel and sole which accents the white in-step. Luckily, since Messi has famously never played on a wet, windy, night in Stoke. That boot is likely to stay pristinely white in the sunny, Mediterranean climate in Spain.
