A Manchester-based establishment poked fun at that Steven Gerrard incident from last season. You know the one we’re talking about.
Credit must go to screenwriter Neil Gibbons, who you might know as one of the comedic geniuses behind the Alan Partridge series of TV shows and movies, for spotting this sign in Manchester.

In case you’re unaware, it is a reference to the time the Reds captain slipped against Chelsea last season, a mistake which Demba Ba capitalised on to slot the ball into the Liverpool net. It came shortly after Gerrard gave a rousing speech to his team-mates on the pitch during a previous match in which he boldly roared that their title run “does not fucking slip now.”
This joke has gotten really out of hand. The infamous incident happened so long ago it that making a cheap gag out of it has become hackneyed and, dare I say, uncool. It really is lowest common denominator stuff.
Oh right… apologies.
